Ashley Crowder

Therapist

Hello! I am very excited to begin working with you. I graduated from Oakland University in 2014 with my Masters in Counseling and have 10 years of experience in the field. My main treatment styles are person centered therapy (where I let you as the client direct what we talk about and work on mutually agreed upon goals that are important to you), and solution focused therapy (where we look at your strengths and things that have worked for you in the past and build upon that as a starting point to look for solutions to the problems you’re facing right now).

I work with a lot of individuals, both children/teens and adults, who are dealing with navigating anxiety, depression and feelings of being stressed out or overwhelmed. I also am certified in DBT (dialectical behavior therapy), that can be very useful in helping you manage intense emotions, navigate interpersonal conflicts, tolerate distress and become more mindful and intentional in everyday life. I took specialty courses in marriage and family therapy and have experience working with a wide variety of couples and families; my preferred marriage therapy method is based on the work of John Gottman but I am open to other approaches as well.

I work with a variety of people I love diversity and am a very open minded, approachable, and easy person to talk too. I can’t wait to start your path with you!

She provides a safe, non-judgemental environment and understands how challenging it can be to come to the decision of seeking out therapy in the first place. Alicia will meet you where you’re at in your journey and provide a welcoming, easy-going, and at times, humorous space for healing. She utilizes a strengths-based approach and works with you to determine your goals and create a plan to work towards those goals.
